"I think a lot of people say seniors are not interested in learning about technology and that's just absolutely not true," said Brenda Schmachtenberger, director of OASIS San Antonio. "We have seniors who want to learn for various reasons."

"I felt that it's never too late to learn," commented Hannah Ross, one of the class's graduates and wife of the former city councilman [Bob Ross], after whom the center was named. "At the beginning you're scared, you think you're stupid and you can't do it. As seniors, sometimes you think that you can't do anything, but you can if you want to. I think everybody in the class has really gotten something out of it.

"It's such a wonderful feeling to know that very shortly I'm going to be e-mailing my nine grandchildren," she added.
