"Burglary of vehicles used to be a felony, but four or five years ago, the Texas Legislature changed that to a misdemeanor. Nonetheless, we take that crime very seriously at the SAPD," continued [Sandy Gutierrez].
"We have had, so far this year, over 25,000 burglaries of vehicles already," Gutierrez reported. "That is a huge number to deal with, and the citizens who are broken into find that it is a serious crime-one that is costly."See the full content of this document
