S.A. Rolls Out Red Carpet for Latino Stars

Having previously screened great Latino indie flicks like Peter Bratt's "Follow Me Home" and the Cevallos brothers' "The Bookie," CineFestival has become a strong force in the independent film arena.

"I've never worked with Peter Bratt, but he is an actor's director," said [Jeremy Ray Valdez]. "He really knows how to give directions to actors, which is a breath of fresh air."

"I've worked quite a bit with Edward James Olmos and he once told me that as Latinos there's not going to be as many opportunities for us, but what we have to do is go out there and make our own opportunities," explained Valdez. "We have to be the writers... the producers... the directors because if we sit around and wait for roles to come to us, they're just not going to come."
