"Latinos are a growing and young community in this country and the issues that affect them are the issues that will affect the rest of the nation in years to come," said Marie Watteau, director of media for NCLR. "Latinos are the future workforce of the country and how we treat education and how we treat jobs in the economy today will have an impact in the future of all Americans."

"We're excited to be back in San Antonio," stated Watteau. "The last time we were here was in 1981 and obviously the Latino community, not only in San Antonio, but in the rest of the country has changed significantly so we're happy to bring the conference back in Texas."

"What makes this event so special is that it provides the opportunity for Latinos and others to really learn about the issues that are important in the community, which are the same issues that are important to all Americans like education reform, healthcare, immigration, the economy, and jobs," explained Watteau. "Our concept is to provide folks with an opportunity to really find out all about these issues under one umbrella."
