TJ. lives with relapsing-remitting MS. This type affects about 85 percent of all people living with MS through clearly defined flare-ups or "relapses" of nerve cell damage, but with some kind of recovery or "remittance" in between.
Secondary progressive MS is technically a form of progressive MS, but this type acts more like a relapsing form in its early-to-mid stage, with relapses and remissions being quite common. But after a while, a more continuous loss of physical and cognitive functions begin to take over while relapses become less common. About 50 percent of people with relapsingremitting MS will usually develop secondary progressive MS within 10 years of their initial diagnosis.See the full content of this document
