"When I asked the Legislature to update Texas' communications laws in my State of the State address before the 2005 session, this is exactly the outcome I knew we would see if we did the job right," said [Rick Perry]. "This is a perfect example of how good policies lead to good things for Texas."

"Rural Texans need increasingly modern communication tools. I'm happy to say we've helped accomplish that goal by passing Senate Bill 5, which is increasing access to technology throughout our great state. I am particularly pleased that our hard work is paying off for South Texas," said Senator Judith Zaffirini.

"The opportunity for discovery and exploration are endless, thanks to the Legislature's leadership to bring us this new technology. I can't wait to get started," said Travis Wilshire, Vice Chairman of the Alamo City Chamber of Commerce.
