Trying to hold on to faded glory is always a losing proposition. Somehow, capitalizing on a memory seems to lack the payoff. For Ben Mauk, time may very well have passed him by. Following the fourth denial by the NCAA to give Mauk a sixth year of eligibility, the case will now be heard at the Hardin County Pleas Court.
What Ben Mauk is trying to force makes sense. Yet his college career didn't come with guarantees and the NCAA doesn't have to give them. His situation is not new. There are a number of athletes in division one that have known the disappointment of having their career cut short, by injury.
