"Education on pregnancy is something we do not do a very good job of here in San Antonio," [Linda Burton] said. "Hopefully, together we can work to make this a stronger community."

"The numbers are still high in comparison to other states and nation-wide," Dr. Fernando Guerra, director of health said. "We would like bring it even closer to the national average."

"Abstinence is still high on the list of what we need to promote," Guerra said. "But we also need to keep kids connected to different resources."
