Catholic Charities Gets 'Beautiful' Gift for 11th Year

Summary

"This event comes from a very rich tradition," said Steve Saldana, president and CEO of Catholic Charities. "It was started by Archbishop José H. Gomez to help the poor who struggled to pay their bills and utilities. This was a need that the church had to fulfill, and we are grateful that we can continue this tradition when people are struggling."

"It is very interesting that every year the number of participants grows in terms of artists and buyers," said [Amparo Ortiz]. "Every year, we try to get a different audience to attend and that is great for having a variety of supporters. I would like to see this event include more artists and raise more money for needy families."

"There are so many good things that Catholic Charities does with that money," concluded Ortiz. "I would love for the people of the city to come together at this event because it is beautiful and they can take it home with a donation."
