"We got a ton of photos from [Randy Garibay]'s widow, and we got photos from [Lydia Mendoza]'s daughter, [Eva Garza]'s sister, etc.," said [Gerardo Q. Garcia]. "Overall, that's what came about and [David Blancas] did the research for the backdrop, taking photos at Lerma's...there's a photo of Tacoland...Saluté, etc."

"We're looking at a six to eight-month project so I anticipate a multitude of artists helping out," said Garcia. "What's going to happen is it's going to be like a big hustle and bustle in the beginning and then in the middle it's going to be like this lull of hardcore artists with about five to 10 people, and then in the end we'll probably rally again with a lot more people to help out. That's usually the process that we go through with each project."

"It's good to get involved," said Blancas. "I know of a lot of artists that get into their little circles and don't break out of the studios to get involved with the community. This [program] is a good way to be involved, and yeah it's a little hot and it's a little sticky and sweaty, but it's really rewarding because of the feedback you get."
